OKLAHOMA CITY - The Southeast athletic department announced the hiring of Jameel "Jabo" Smith as the new Football head coach on Monday.

Smith arrives at Southeast with a championship pedigree at every single level of the game. As a player, he helped lead his high school team to a perfect 15-0 record en route to a State Championship in Florida. He went on to captain Youngstown State all the way to the Division I FCS National Championship game.

Coach Smith brings an extensive collegiate coaching resume to the Southeast program, with a proven track record of elite player development and high-level scheme execution. His impressive college coaching stops include: Norfolk State University (NCAA Division I FCS), Florida Memorial University (NAIA), Ave Maria University (NAIA), and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NJCAA JUCO).

From turning defenses into the number one secondary in the league, to mentoring NAIA All-Conference Defensive Players of the Year, Coach Smith has spent his career teaching elite-level technique and building dominant units. He brings the highest standards of preparation, discipline, and collegiate-level execution directly to the Southeast program to help all of their student-athletes maximize their potential.
