OKLAHOMA CITY - The Southeast athletic department announced the hiring of Micheal Billingsley as the program's next head football coach earlier this week.

Last season, Billingsley served as the Co-Defensive Coordinator for Southeast, and previously served as the Defensive Line coach at U.S Grant High School.

Billingsley is a 2007 graduate from Southeast High School where he was named a Class 5A First Team All-District defensive tackle as a senior, and was named to the Big All-City First Team as well. He also participated in the Jim Thorpe All-Star game, where had four sacks and was named the Defensive MVP.

After graduating from Southeast, he spent two years playing at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M where he tallied 42 tackles while earning his associates' degree in Physical Education. In 2010, Billingsley signed with Nicholls State and saw action in nine games on the defensive line. With the Colonels, he earned his bachelor's degree in General Studies as well.

"I'm extremely excited for the opportunity to be the head coach at my alma mater." said Billingsley on Tuesday during his introductory press conference. "We have an excellent young core of athletes at Southeast, and my goal is to bring the most out of them on and off the field. This opportunity is so special to me. Once a Spartan, always a Spartan!

Billingsley is married to his wife Valencia, and they have four children which include three triplets (Micheal, Malik, Matt), and one daughter (Neveah).
